Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Danika Nell of the Vincent Massey Trojans fast pitch team.

This past weekend, Nell led the Trojans to their second consecutive Provincial Fast Pitch Championship. During the tournament, she went 13/14 at the plate for a .929 batting average. She hit 4 homeruns, 2 of which were grand slams, and 17 RBI's.  She recorded a total of 50 strikeouts over 21 innings pitched. Danika was also named tournament MVP for an impressive 3rd year in a row. Coaches Krystal Morgan and Mandy Wolfe state "She is a born competitor who thrives under pressure. She has an innate ability to remain in the moment and keep her teammates and herself calm."

In Grade 12, she maintains a 97.4% average.
