Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Dorian Johnson of the Westgate Mennonite Wings track & field team.

Johnson shows a love for participating in a variety of Westgate teams. He is following up a provincial championship in the JV boys category in cross country with a strong start to the track and field season. At the Westman meet in Brandon, he finished 2nd in the 3000m and led the medley team to a 1st place finish. In the recent SCAC meet, he had 2nd place finishes in the 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m and a 3rd place finish in the distance medley. Athletic Director Jennifer How states, "Dorian is dedicated to improving as a track athlete and has helped encourage more athletes to get involved in our Westgate track program.  Dorian looks forward to competing at the MHSAA Track & Field Provincials." 

This grade 10 student maintains an 80% academic average.
