Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Soren Reid of the Nellie McClung Stingers.

At the Westman track & field meet in Brandon, Reid obtains the provincial standard in JV Boys long jump (5.64m) and triple jump (12.13m). He also placed first in the pentathlon with 2206 pts. Following that he pitched a complete game shutout versus Pilot Mound in which he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk, and threw 17 strikeouts. Then the following night, he went 2 for 5 at the plate with a 2-run homerun. This followed up a week in which he placed 4th in mixed doubles at badminton provincials.

Reid, in grade 10, maintains a 95% academic average and in addition was a member of the cross country, golf, volleyball, basketball, and curling teams.
